Privacy Policy

Territory Run Tracker is a small private test running in Greater Victoria, BC. Last updated June 2026.

Here is what we collect and what happens with it. If anything is unclear, just email us (address at the bottom) and we will explain.

What we collect

  • Your email, so you can sign in.
  • A display name and a colour that you pick.
  • Your GPS location, but only while a run is recording. It starts when you tap “Start run” and stops when you tap “Finish run”. We do not track you before or after that.
  • A few basic events, like when a run starts or finishes, so we can see whether people are actually using it.

Your runs are public

The runs you record show up on the shared map, and anyone can look at that map. It is pseudonymous, so people see something like “Runner #1a2b” and your colour, not your email. Your display name can be whatever you want. It does not have to be your real name, and it only shows up if you turn that on in your profile.

Since your routes are public, it is worth being a little careful about where you start and finish. If you would rather not give away your home, start the run a block or two away from it. Plan your runs with that in mind.

What we do with it

We only use this to run the game and to figure out whether the idea works. We do not sell your data and we do not run ads. It lives on Vercel, which hosts the app, and Supabase, which is the database. The usage analytics we use (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights) do not use cookies and do not collect anything personal about you.

Keeping and deleting your data

We hold onto your data while the test is running. You can ask us to show you what we have, fix it, or delete it, any time, and we will sort it out. You can also stop recording runs whenever you want.

Consent

When you make an account, you are telling us it is okay to collect and use your location and account info the way we have described here.
